guidelines

ㅤ001.ㅤ Absolutely no minors. If you aren't at least 18+, and I really would much prefer 21+, then you simply do not belong here. After all, themes to be included in writing are: fantasy, dark fantasy, drama (in character), horror (especially of the eldritch variety), and more.

ㅤ002.ㅤ Para and multi are my preferred writing lengths. I also don't mind semi. I find it all depends on the situation. Do not feel pressed to match, however do give me enough to work with. This also applies to spelling and grammar. I’m not asking you to be perfect; I’m certainly not perfect. All I ask is for you to do your best. But if it's obvious that you aren't even making the bare minimum of effort, then expect me to tap out.

ㅤ003.ㅤ This character has its roots in the historical, as I’m sure you can tell, but it’s much more geared toward fantasy, supernatural and horror aspects. If you’re searching for a more faithful compliance to historical events, then I’m probably not going to be the person for you; especially since this character is no doubt going to have some kind of monster iteration at some point, or it will be an option, at least.

ㅤ004.ㅤ I’m not really here to write romance stories. Will this character partake in erotic stories? Sometimes, though never as the focal point of the plot; and it’s pretty unlikely unless you’re a close friend or someone that I’ve played with for a while. The point is, he’s out for himself and only himself. Furthermore, he’s gay. Yes, I’ll play with females. But please, please don’t be one of those ladies that think, I can change him. Trust me, you can’t.

ㅤ005.ㅤ I love to plot. If you like anything, be it the concept, appearance, time period, etc., you can absolutely come to me and we can no doubt figure something out. I’m always more than happy to chat, brainstorm, or just throw things at the wall until something sticks, and then we can plot further from there. Or we can take a basic idea and run with it. I've had plenty of amazing stories start from the smallest things.

ㅤ006.ㅤ Finally, communication is key. If something isn't working for you or you want a new plot, tell me. I won’t get angry or snap at you. I’ll be appreciative of the input, and we can get to work on forming something new that we can both enjoy. I’ll extend the same courtesy in return if something isn’t working for me.

  • ㅤpersonalityㅤ Serious and collected. His sense of humor, when he opts to show it, runs toward the dark and morbid. While he presents himself as a man out to help others, the truth is far more sinister; he relishes in all of the death.

ㅤbiography:ㅤ Jaques was born and raised in the village of Lautrec, a small and idyllic settlement where things seemed mostly peaceful and normal. The son of a baker and a seamstress, most of his days were spent relatively simply, playing out in nature or picking up new skills from his parents, as both believed learning should begin early and continue throughout life. Jaques, fortunately, was a quicker study and relished in being taught new concepts and skills.Around the age of twelve, he was taken on by the town physician as an errand boy. At fourteen, thanks to watching the man work in between his tasks, he was taken on as an assistant. He spent the next year shadowing the man, learning as much as he could about the ins and outs of his profession, and in his free time he spent countless hours reading every book and text he could about all things related to medicine. By fifteen, he’d all but made up his mind about his path in life: he’d become a physician. His years between fifteen and seventeen were spent much the same, learning and studying, but somewhere in between, largely thanks to a few obscure writings, he began to dabble a bit in alchemical studies, wholly in secret. His fascination only grew stronger. By seventeen, with the help of the village physician, he was sent to Paris to further his studies thanks to a colleague of the village doctor. He stayed in Paris until he was twenty-two, learning all that he could about both medicine, alchemy, and, at times, in the deepest, darkest parts of the city, he’d learn things far more sinister. These were the years that turned him toward darker intentions, though he kept those hidden beneath the surface. The plague struck several months after turning twenty-two. Despite his studies and formal education being far from complete, he was sent into the fray to assist where he could. Thus began his years as a plague doctor. In the early days, he made a decent effort to help the infected, as much as they could be helped. But it didn’t take long for plague doctors to become synonymous with death, being seen as harbingers of the end. Jaques leaned into the terror and fear that surrounded plague doctors, and he made his turn from doing what he could to be of real help to doing all that he could to eradicate the plague: and what better way than to end those infected? Certainly, it would be the most merciful thing to do, wouldn’t it?Ah, if only his methods were at all merciful. Now, at twenty-five, Jaques continues to tend to the infected in his own way, and, with the plague continuing to spread, he’s been traveling across France, bringing his special method of healing to others. Do be wary if you meet the doctor for yourself. He doesn’t always differentiate between healthy and sick, for the plague lingers in every corner, does it not?
